When making a product for a client, I learned how important it is to do research on the target audience
to understand what they really need. For this project, I did interviews with refugees at the AZC and
with the teachers who teach them Dutch. This gave us a lot of useful information to make an app that
really fits their situation. For example, we decided to make a mobile app, so refugees can easily
practice in their own rooms on their phones. We also made sure to include the languages that refugees at
the AZC actually speak.
To turn our ideas into an interactive prototype, I used Figma. In Figma, I made many components, like
scrolling pages, hover effects, and even a simple game. Figma is a very helpful tool for showing the
client how the app will work and for testing if the design is clear and easy to use.
By combining research, user feedback, and good visual design in Figma, I was able to create an app that
is interactive, useful, and made specially for the people who will use it.
